    After a week down in Old Town with a group of friends I moved out to my favorite hotel the Westin Puerto Vallarta.  As always, the hotel takes such good care of its guests especially Angel in the Club Lounge/Royal Beach Club.  I can get lots of work done while still having plenty of time for the beach and the amazing gym.  I have plenty of posts and pics on my old starwood blog on the Westin PV https://starwoodguy.blogspot.com/     On this trip with Oliver waking me up early I manged some amazing sunrise photos around the marina.     Angel is still outstanding, and while many regulars complain the warm options have been removed from the night time selections in the Royal Beach Club, there is still a selection of cheeses, sandwiches and desserts and they keep the cocktails flowing, and the breakfast has remained extensive.  The hotel is gearing up for major renovations with the Royal Beach Club scheduled to ...

    In November 2019 I had a trip to Singapore and on the return managed a two day stay in Tokyo.  One of the nights I made it over to Tokyo Disneyland, a Disney I had not seen yet and was very excited to experience.  It was around an hour by bus from the hotel in downtown Tokyo out to the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay.  I opted for an after hours Disneyland pass for the night of my arrival at the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay and the next day to get a full day pass before taking the Airport Limousine Bus out to Narita airport.     I arrived at the hotel on a rainy November afternoon but was happily upgraded to a large suite which was very functional, not overly stylish, but very efficient, overlooking the bay and dropped my bags off quickly before touring the hotel.  The lobby was large with a central bar and a few eating options and a coffee bar with easy to go snacks.  There was a gym complex in the large exercise area with pool and hot ...

Merlion at Sentosa      In November 2019 I took a potential last big trip with my father and godfather to Singapore to visit our family friends.  Though I was pushing for a Marriott property, I was outvoted and we were at the Grande Mercure Roxy on the East Coast Park area which was perfect for running, though the heat made it necessary to run early.  Still, we had a great trip with flights in Business on JAL via Tokyo and an amazing time in Singapore.
